TIL "smoke test" originate from circuit board engineer that is the first time your turn up the circuit, if there's no smoke (the circuit not burned), then highly likely it will work. Buf if there's smoke, no point in testing the circuit further.

unlike Fedora, there's no touchpad gestures but I manage to settle down with libinput-gestures for now. And I manage to survive fully on Firefox, no more Chrome! The multi-container addon is far superior that Chrome Profiles.

it's been a month since I try @ManjaroLinux on my X1 Carbon, replacing Fedora and before that, Ubuntu 19.04. I think it's safe to say I'm 'officially' with manjaro now. It feel back at home as Archlinux is my fav distro 16 years ago. Manjaro is good OS for developers.

while peeking into @zulip's source code today, I found out their code are fully annotated with the optional type hinting. They started annotating since 2016 using python 2 syntax and finally on python 3 in 2018. Now theirs has become my reference point for annotation.
